This plastic hairpipe is a popular substitute for the heavier and more expensive bone hairpipe. Imitation hairpipe tends to be easier to use because it has a more consistent size,  shape, and color with a larger hole than bone hairpipe. It is slightly wider in the middle and tapered on each end.
